A Knock on the Door

So I was sitting around in the commons today wearing lazy clothes and expiramenting with my hair, when I heard a knock on the door. I got up from the chair and walked off to see who it was.
I opened the door slowly...
There was someone there!
I gasped. A girl, around my age, maybe a year or two older was standing, waiting, woth a bag on her shoulder.
"Can I come in?" She asked. I nodded, bewildered.
I let her in. She was very pretty, with light strawberry blond hair, freckles and beautiful green eyes.
"I'm Leah James. I was supposed to report to SunnySide Boarding School. Apparently I'm the 6th student. I just got here from Rhode Island." She said. She had a sweet, rich Irish accent.
I gasped "Oh yes! We couldn't wait to meet you! Wait right here." I ran to the wardrobe where I threw on a sweater and     ran back to the front hall.
"I'm Saige Jessica Fern Copeland. Call me Saige. I'm twelve, from New Mexico and Texas. I just got here over the summer." I explained.
"Leah Samantha Caoihme James. Call me Leah. I'm thirteen. From New York and Ireland. Just got here a few minutes ago." She said with a smile. I laughed. I liked her humor already. Suddenly I felt sheepish. One of the most fashionable girls in SunnySide, here I was wearing my lazy clothes. Here was Leah, looked amazing.
"Don't worry. I don't usually wear such boring clothes. I'm just chilling in my lazy clothes today, plus my hair is a mess." I say quickly. Leah smiles.
"I don't usually wear such fancy clothes. I wear lazy clothes almost everyday... I'm really sporty, so it doesn't really matter. I like your hair!" She says nicely. I breath a silent sigh of relief. Good, she doesn't mind my clothes.
" C'mon, I'll introduce you to the others!" I say, and we walk off.
Two hours later, Leah was settled in and had met everybody. I think she and Julie are clicking! She is super nice, and I've found out that she was born in New Mexico, moved to Ireland when her parents got divorced, moved to New York 3 years ago, and then here. She also loves sports, playing guitar, nature, and animals.
Well, that's it for now.
Signing off,
Saige

A Day in the Snow

Hi! Saige at the keyboard here!
Today we could finally go out! Back in November, there had been a blizzard, but it was so cold no one went outside! Today, the world was coated with awhite  blanket, so I decided to venture out in the snow.
I'm not much of an alone persn, so I went to the living room to find a friend.
As usual, Alyssa, Dell, Chrissa, and Hannah were all working on a 1000 piece puzzle and gobbling down sugar cookies. They aren't very outside people. Julie on the other hand looked very bored. I asked her if she wanted to join me, and of course she said yes! I do hope our new friend likes adventures.
Julie and I got dressed in a flash.
Don't we look like explorers?! We couldn't wait to try out the sled we got for Christmas!!
"I bet you they'll be done with that puzzle by the time we come back in." I said
"I agree!" Julie said. I smiled.
Soon we reached the door to the backyard. There wasn't as much snow as I expected, mainly because it had been raining that night. Nevertheless, snow is snow, so it's all good!
I looked at Julie and she looked back. My first snow in SunnySide, I thought as we stepped outside.
Yay! We walked down the balcony steps and out to the garden.
We left our sled and decided to start with the most classic thing to do in the snow. A snowman! Julie and I choose jobs and got to work.
Julie found things to decorate our man, while I made him. Soon we were sitting beside our little Sam.
He didn't look too happy. I wonder why?
Then Julie said we should have a snowball fight. I agreed.
We both made a few snowballs and a small protective wall, and the fight began!!
In the end, we both ended up tired and worn out and decided it was a tie.
"Let's try out the sled!" I said happily. Julie nodded energetically. Off we went!
"Over the hills we go, laughing all the way!" I belted out. Julie stopped.
"Saige, let's make a hill!" She exclaimed. I jumped off and we got to work.

Julie waa going to go first. She climbed onto the sled.
"Ready, set, GO!" I shouted, and gave her a push. She skidded down the hill.
And then, she fell!
"Julie, are you okay?" I asked
She turned her head "Are you kidding? That. Was. Awesome!!!" She shouted, and got up. It was my turn!
"Ready, steady, and GO!"
I slid down the hill screaming and theb haled to stop. "That was amazing!" I exclaimed. We each went down the hill avout five times, then decided to do something else. We wrote our names in the snow!
"Let's go back inside. It's getting dark." Julie admitted. I nodded.
"One more thing!" I said quickly and hopped into the snow.
Julie and I laughed as we created awesome snow angels. It was great!!
"Okay, we can go inside now!" I said, hopping up.
Then we walked back home.
Well, that concludes my first snow adventure in SunnySide. And whatdya know, the girls are about to finish the puzzle! I must go help them, even though I'm not big on puzzles.
I have to go, or my hot coco will get cold.
Until next time dear readers!
